I also think we will want to question the mother's recalcitrant position of "If we want a diversity of people in Parliament we're going to need to look at how better to manage the rules."Says who? Do we really want diversity for the sake of diversity or do we want the right representation regardless of diversity? Look, if you are a senator, start behaving like one when you are in chambers. If you don't know the rules, then start learning them, you don't change a rule just because you have broken it.
From this morning's media prattling on the fiasco, there seems to be general agreement the Senate President, Senator John Hogg could have handled the matter differently. They are right. He should have evicted the mother instead.
