No need to say it was a trial and tribulation affair; trial for us and tribulation for our kitchen.
The result wasn't too bad, taste-wise that is, although I think the plating do need a bit more work.
And then there was the post-brekky washing up to do which sobered me up pretty quick.
Yes, while there is something quite satisfying with the hunting and gathering of putting together a nice meal on the table for the family, I truly belong to the kind who are cut out to eat out; I mean I can eat out, any time, any day.
Happy Birthday Singapore!

What do you think?

Speaking of day, today is a special day (of sorts) for all Singaporeans - it is our nation's 44th birthday! Woo-hoo!
And yes, we do put on a display to mark the occasion.
Our National Day Parade is one of the gaudiest display of sights and sounds and even smells on the island, and you have to be quite lucky (or persistent in queueing, or both) if you want to lay hands on the tickets. Or else you will have to be one of the participants putting on the display, like yours truly once did, twice!

If you are somewhat impervious to culture-cringe, go here to catch up on the latest with the NDP celebrations.
And if you survive that experience, here is a treat for you:
Happy Birthday Singapore!
